Payback (2016) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It will take place on May 1, 2016 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. It was originally scheduled to be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on May 22, 2016, but switched dates and venues with Extreme Rules. It will be the fourth event in the Payback chronology. This will also be the final WWE pay-per-view under the PG rating.

The pay-per-view began with The Brothers defending their WWE Tag Team Championship titles against Enzo and Cass the match ended in a no contest after roughly four minutes after Enzo Amore suffered suspected whiplash after hitting his neck on the ropes after being throw out by Matthew Harrison. This would later be revealed to be concussion and Amore would be released from hospital just over four hours later.
