The WWE Global Championship is a women's professional wrestling championship promoted by the WWE and is exclusive to the SmackDown brand. The title was originally planned to replace the WWE Divas Championship at WrestleMania 32 but was delayed to SummerSlam. The inaugural champion was decided at SummerSlam with defending Divas Champion Taya Valkyrie becoming inaugural champion. The title is currently held by Mariah May, who is in her first reign.
