The Women's Evolution (originally the Diva's Revolution then later the Women's Revolution) is an ongoing period in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and professional wrestling history that began in April 2015. The period shows the WWE's female talent roster make a statement and become just as important as the mens. This would lead to three womens matches at Payback (2015) the first time more than two womens matches had ever taken place in one pay-per-view. The era began following the change in ownership in the company and would end up with up to four championships for the Divas to compete for, the already existing WWE Divas Championship, the revived WWE Women's Championship, the re-branded WWE Divas Tag Team Championship and they were also able to compete against the men for the recently revived WWE Hardcore Championship. The Divas at the forefront of the revolution include The Four Horsewomen (Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Paige), Team B.A.D. (Naomi, Sasha Banks and Tamina) and Team Bella (Brie and Nikki Bella and Alicia Fox) this has resulted in a huge feud between the three teams. Since then the Divas Championship has been retired and replaced by the Global Championship and there has been an influx of female roster additions since. This would also lead to Women's Money in the Bank and Royal Rumble matches.
