WrestleMania 32 was the thirty-second annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE. It took place on April 3, 2016, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event was contested of 13 matches (with two matches occurring on the WrestleMania Kickoff pre-show - both were aired live on the USA Network). Four matches were considered marquee matches
In the main event in which Dean Ambrose retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, Shane McMahon (in his first match since 2009) lost to The Undertaker, James Harrison successfully defended his United States Championship against Triple H and Ana Sanchez defeated Sasha Banks to retain her WWE Divas Championship before Becky Lynch cashed-in her Money in the Bank contract to capture the title.
The event was also notable for having the shortest WrestleMania match ever, when The Rock beat Erick Rowan, in the impromptu match, the unannounced return of John Cena, and the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which included the surprise participation of NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal and was won by Baron Corbin. The event set multiple records, including the highest grossing WWE event taking $17.3 million and also the best attended WWE event with 101,763 people in attendance.
The event overall was highly praised with the Divas Championship match between Ana Sanchez and Sasha Banks scored the elusive five-star rating from Dave Meltzer who called it one of the greatest women's matches of all-time. On the main show only the Hell in a Cell match was criticised as many felt it went on too long and shouldn't have surpassed 20 minutes. The event also saw the shortest match in WrestleMania history as The Rock defeated Erick Rowan in just six seconds though this is disputed as some believe it may be as long as nine seconds but is the shortest match of all-time.
